Does Advance Credit Union operate in South Africa?

Does Advance Credit Union operate in South Africa?

    Simple answer, no we don’t.

Sadly some fraudsters did attempt to use our name, logo and documentation to offer loans based out of Cape Town, South Africa. They attempt to charge a fee for insurance before the ‘loan’ is granted. This is an advance fee fraud, and they are not registered as an authorised lender with the South African National Credit Regulator.  We quickly spotted their operation and had their fake website taken down with some great support from their webhost and the FCA. The UK Financial Conduct Authority have issued a warning about this firm, they are not regulated or authorised in the UK or in South Africa.

If you live in South Africa, we strongly suggest that you only save and borrow with firms regulated by South Africa’s SFCA or registered with the South African National Credit Regulator

Advance Credit Union Ltd is UK based, regulated by the FCA and PRA, here is our registration on the FCA’s Mutuals register. We can only accept people who live or work in a ‘B’ postcode, including Birmingham and Solihull, UK.
